“Dammit, that girl!” Silas shouted. “We need their insolent little asses back here.”

“I told you to be ready. We all knew she would pull this shit,” Dante scolded.

“Never underestimate her. Have we not said that a hundred times,” Bain agreed as he set his glass down.

“You’re the one who said let’s see how far she can get. Well, now we’re all going to find out,” Aiden growled.

“It seems we have a problem to contend with,” Santiago stated. He and Luciana now stood in the parlor.

“Yes. I presume you and Mother witnessed it all?” Silas asked.

“Yes, and Jadis is strong. She’s becoming more powerful by the day. We need to prepare. Abigor is aware of her existence. He’ll come for her eventually. She needs to be controlled and held steady.” Santiago only said what everyone there already knew to be true.

“How well do you think she can cloak herself with Aria and Maddie in tow?” Aiden asked.

“We shall soon find out,” Dante rumbled, re-thinking the lessons they had all been giving her. Yep, that wasn’t the best idea. She can probably use her skills to hide for hours.

The feeling of dread washed over Silas like the waters before a hurricane. His thoughts wandered back to a time not so long ago when he had almost lost her

Luciana placed her hand on Silas’ shoulder. “Calm, my child. We won’t let anything happen to them. Go get your mate and bring her home. Your father and I’ll be awaiting your arrival.” Her smile was loving and genuine, her words reassuring.

“I think we’re going to need more than an anklet.” Dante chuckled to Bain and Lars quietly.

“I swear on all that’s Nosferatu. Jadis will put me to an early grave,” Eden snarled.

“You and I both, brother, and for Aria to follow her, she’ll regret that decision,” Aiden added.

“I cannot believe Maddie followed suit. What in the hell got into her? I know she can be stubborn, but goddammit, she generally listens to what I say,” Eden seethed. Jadis always had a way of stoking his temper.

“You have to ask? I believe Jadis could convince the Gods to follow her.” Lars chuckled.

“Let’s go. It won’t be okay until her ass is back in my hands,” Silas snarled.
